Step 1: Find a Niche
So how exactly can you do the same? Step one: you need to find a niche and the niches that are actually working right now in 2025 are scary stories, ancient stories, or things from the past— all of those things. Now I’m going to give you my own blueprint to be able to find these stories.
Using Reddit for Story Ideas
Let’s go ahead and head over to reddit.com. If you’re not yet following along with me, I want you to go ahead and open the text guide down below in this video. It will contain all of the links and resources that you need to be able to perform this video with me. So go ahead, open the text file, and click on the link to open Reddit now. If you don’t yet have a Reddit account, you can simply create one for completely free. I’m also going to log into my Reddit account right now, which for some reason I’m logged out. I don’t even know why, and I want you to type in here on the search bar scary stories.
Finding Popular Scary Stories on Reddit
You can see here a few Reddit channels will pop up: this one here has 500,000 members, this second one here has 95,000 members, and this one here also has almost 1 million members. It doesn’t matter which one you choose, basically, we just need to go into any of these channels and we need to find scary stories that we can use to create videos.
Sorting Stories by Popularity
Now, once you go into any of these channels, the way that you sort them by the best stories (the most trending ones) is you go here on the left and you click here to filter and sort by hot ones. Alright, you can also sort by new, top, and rising, but the hot ones usually get you the ones that are performing the best.
Saving Scary Stories for Video Creation
Once you sort these stories, you can simply click on one, read the story, see if it’s any good, and if it is, just save the entire story here because we’re going to be using this to create a video. Yep, it’s that simple. Like we’re going to be creating a video on this person’s scary story.

The first and most obvious way you can make money from these videos is by using the YouTube Partner Program. But to be able to earn money from the YouTube Partner Program (which is the ads that you watch before watching a video), you need to have 1,000 subscribers and 4,000 hours of watch time.

But you can get them pretty fast. So let me go ahead and show you a different method with which you can monetize right from the first video, and it’s simply by using affiliate products.
Posting to Other Platforms
